The Student Affairs Strategic Plan aims to move the division forward with unified, aspirational, and actionable priorities. The priorities are based on insights and recommendations from five staff working groups:
- Transforming the Student Experience
- Culture of Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Financial Stability
- Health Justice & Holistic Well-Being
- Organizational Behavior & Development
Strategic initiatives have been created from these priorities. Strategic initiatives are the instruments that help deliver on our collective vision. They take the broader priority and make it practical and actionable. In our case, they are the means by which we will make progress towards our priorities. Each Strategic initiative will be championed by Priority Leaders and Initiative Owners from throughout all areas of the division.
The Student Affairs Strategic Plan process started in the Fall of 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve come a long way since the start and have had to adjust our approaches to our changing world. Since the start we created working groups to define initiatives, engaged a synthesis team to eliminate redundancies and get feedback from leadership. We are now excited to be entering the Implementation phase.
As we embark into this work we want to acknowledge that all of us are still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, so this process will be going at a slower speed than usual. We are striving to show our progress, but not at our team’s expense.
